How long will my appointment take?
Some appointments take about 5 minutes; others may take an hour. The time needed depends on the documents, number of signers, and meeting arrangements. J. R. Glenn will discuss your needs before confirming your appointment.
What details should I share?
Tell J. R. Glenn your document type, number of documents and signers, location, preferred day and time, any deadline, and witness requirements if known. A short description is enough to start; please do not text sensitive numbers or images of your identification.
What should I bring?
Bring the complete document and a current, acceptable photo ID. Bring every signer and any witnesses required by your document. Leave signature lines for the notarial act unsigned until you meet with the notary.
Can you explain or prepare my document?
No. A notary verifies identity and performs the requested notarial act. Pickens Notary does not draft, select, or interpret legal documents and cannot provide legal advice. Contact an attorney if you need help with the document’s contents or legal effect.
Where can we meet?
Appointments may be arranged in Pickens County, Oconee County, and Northern Anderson County. Meeting and mobile travel availability depends on the specific address. Call or text with your proposed location so J. R. Glenn can confirm the meeting arrangements and appointment time with you.
What does it cost?
The total depends on the notarial act or acts requested, the number of signatures, and the meeting location. Any travel charge is separate and agreed before travel. J. R. Glenn will discuss the requested service and full total with you before confirming the appointment. See our notary services.
What if my document needs witnesses?
Please tell us before the appointment. Bring the witnesses required by the document unless we have confirmed another arrangement. The notary cannot guarantee that witnesses will be available.
How do I schedule?
Call (864) 633-0870 to discuss your documents, text J. R. Glenn, or choose a time in the Google appointment scheduler. If you book online, also call or text your document details. For several documents, multiple signers, travel, or uncertain timing, call before booking. Confirm the meeting location and service details with J. R. Glenn before traveling.
What if J. R. Glenn does not answer?
If J. R. Glenn cannot answer your call, leave a voicemail or send a text. Include your name, what you need notarized, the number of documents and signers, your location, and your preferred timing. J. R. Glenn personally reviews voicemails and texts and responds.
What if I only need to sign an ordinary document?
If the receiving organization accepts a signature added in an app and your document does not require notarization, eSign for iPhone and iPad may be useful. Adding a signature in an app does not itself notarize a document. If notarization is required or you are unsure about your appointment, call or text J. R. Glenn at (864) 633-0870 before signing.

Does notarization mean the document is legally valid?
No. Notarization confirms the notarial act performed; it does not verify that a document is true, legally sufficient, or enforceable.
