What to share when you call or text

  • How many documents and people will be signing.

  • Your preferred day and time, plus any deadline.
  • Any witness requirements or special arrangements you already know about.

Before your appointment

  • Bring every signer in person.
  • Each signer needs valid government-issued photo ID.
  • Do not sign the document before meeting the notary unless its instructions say otherwise.
  • Ask about any travel charge before travel is arranged.

Please do not send Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account numbers, or document images by text. A notary can notarize signatures and perform other authorized notarial acts, but cannot provide legal advice or select a document for you.
